We are off and running in a new calendar year at Roberta United Methodist Church. The Bible says, "Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is." (Ephesians 5:15-17, NIV)
We are admonished by the Apostle Paul to be wise, discerning people who seek the will of God for ourselves and our church in these days filled with moral and spiritual challenges.
What would Roberta United Methodist Church look like if we sought to be faithful stewards of all God has blessed us with? Our time, talents and resources, all belong to God. Faithful stewardship means we recognize that fact and joyfully give God our best for His glory.
I invite you to dream with me of all that God can accomplish through us this year as we surrender our lives to His purposes.
Our church can truly be a beacon on a hill in our community. Let's remember the words of the Apostle Paul in this regard, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:1-2, NIV)
I believe God has great things in store for Roberta UMC, as we seek His will.
